Staff may request access to a website or URL that is currently blocked, or request that a new website be reviewed for use within the JSRACS environment.


By submitting a website or URL request, the user acknowledges that websites can present security, privacy and compliance risks. All website requests will be documented and reviewed by the ICT team prior to approval.


Where a website is requested to be unblocked, the ICT team must be provided with the exact website address (URL) and a clear explanation of the educational or business requirement. ICT will perform a security assessment and determine whether access can be approved. Websites that do not meet JSRACS security or compliance requirements may be denied access, and the requester will be advised of the outcome.


If a website is blocked and access is required, ICT requires the URL, website category and details of who requires access before further review can occur.


YouTube Access Restrictions

In accordance with YouTube's age-related policies, online safety requirements, and JSRACS cybersecurity and student wellbeing obligations, access to YouTube is restricted for students Year 10 and below during school hours on their assigned school devices (school managed or BYOD). This restriction helps minimize exposure to inappropriate content, distractions and potential online safety risks while supporting a focused learning environment. Where educational video content is required, staff should use approved resources and platforms that have been reviewed and authorised by the school. Students in Year 10 and above may be granted access in line with curriculum requirements and school policies.
YouTube is allowed on lab computers for ALL YEAR LEVELS as these are supervised by the IT / Media teachers.
