This article outlines simple steps to fix  basic sound issues when connecting a device via HDMI or Wireless Display (WDA).

Basic Troubleshooting:
1: Ensure the sound symbol is clear like the picture below, if it shows a speaker with an X it means your sound is disabled.

2: If your sound is disabled , CLick on the sound symbol and make sure it appears like th eimage below.

3: If your sound is enabled , Ensure you are not connected to a Bluetooth device that may be outputting your audio.




Troubleshooting  No audio via WDA / HDMI

Open Setting and go to the Sound section when tyou are connected via WDA or HDMI.

ensure that the output is set to 'Digital Output'  and in the Mono Audio section underneath ensure that it is enabled. It should look like the picture below.


NOTE: You may be required switching to the speaker and back to Digital Output for the sound to be enabled externally for WDA audio issues.
