To Change from using your PIN to using your Password
Select the Sign-in options button on the lock screen
Then choose from the following options:
The key symbol is for using your Password
The numpad symbol is to use your PIN
The Fingerprint symbol is to use your Fingerprint
Note that the placeholder text within the input box also changes with the selected option
