Reporting Cybersecurity events is crucial to keeping the school's date safe. Described below are the most common cybersecurity attacks and how to recognise them. If you notice any of the below occurring please contact IT immediately.

Phishing Emails

Phishing emails are emails sent from malicious users trying get to information out of you. They will often pose as the IT department or principal and request you click a link and/or respond with confidential information such as passwords. Attackers can also pose as fellow staff members by copying their name and only having a slightly different email address. If you notice an email from a colleague with unfamiliar language and asking you to click a link or open an attachment please be cautious and notify us. Also be cautious of external emails where you don't recognise the sender and report to IT any other emails you deem to be suspicious or out of the norm.

Login Attempts

Login attempts to your account can occur if the password is leaked as discussed in the following article: Password Policy. As Multi-Factor Authentication is setup on your account, if someone other than you attempts to login you will receive a MFA request via the Microsoft authenticator app. If you notice multiple requests coming through which were not prompted by you please notify us so we can investigate as your login details might be compromised.
