Requirements:
- Microsoft Teams Application must be open
- Teams must be in a meeting
- For the purposes of this tutorial: Additional Speakers or displays capable of playing sound must be connected (either wired connection or WDA connection).
How to play Sound from a different source:
- Step 1: Once inside the Teams meeting; Select the 3 dots above the Teams Meeting view window to open additional options. This will reveal a dropdown box.
- Step 2: Within the dropdown box of additional options; Select "Device Settings" - as shown in the screenshot below.
- Step 3: Select the box under the Speaker heading, to reveal another dropdown box - showing all possible sound output options for the Teams Application
- Step 4:Select the output option that you wish to use, and audio will play through those speakers immediately.
- NOTE: Your laptop may be playing sound through the inbuilt device speakers - these will be listed as something like Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)
- Any other option shown will probably be what you're looking for. eg: The smartboards in the BB Classrooms show up as TCL SMART TV
- Sound should play from the newly selected sound output source immediately.
- NOTE: Although the new source may be selected, that source may have independent volume controls which prevent sound from being audible.
