Importing and Exporting Favourite Bookmarks – Summary
Most internet browsers allow you to export your favourite websites (bookmarks) to a file and import them into another browser or device. This makes it easy to back up your bookmarks or transfer them when switching browsers.
The process is similar across browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari.
JSRACS uses the edge browser and will sync bookmarks automatically using your account JSRACS account.
Exporting and importing bookmarks is a safe way to preserve your browsing data during upgrades or when changing devices.
Exporting Bookmarks
Open your browser’s settings or menu (often found under “Bookmarks” or “Favourites”).
- Edge will automatically save your bookmarks.
- Chrome: 3dots in the top right > Bookmarks and Lists > Bookmark Manager.
- Brave: 3 lines in the top right > Bookmarks and Lists > Bookmark Manager.
- Mozilla Firefox: 3 lines in the top right > Bookmarks > Manager Bookmarks .Select Export Bookmarks or Export Favourites.
- Chrome / Edge / Brave: 3 dots in the top right > ExportChoose a save location and export the file, usually in HTML format (e.g.,
bookmarks.html).Keep this file as a backup or transfer it to another device.
Importing Bookmarks
Open your target browser and go to Bookmarks → Import.
Choose Import from Bookmarks HTML file (or select another browser if supported).
Locate the previously exported
bookmarks.htmlfile.The bookmarks will appear in your favourites list or a special “Imported” folder.
