Logging into SEQTA
1. Enter the following URL into your browser https://teacher.jsracs.wa.edu.au/ OR
If you have a short-cut, double-click it to launch the SEQTA portal i.e.
2. After a few seconds, the SEQTA Teach Portal will show up i.e.
3. Click on the Teaching Workspace. This will bring up a weekly Timetable screen. Here you can view your own and other teacher’s timetables.
4. Click on the “at” symbol on the class for which you wish to record attendance for. i.e. This will load the Attendance screen. i.e.
5. Note the Day, Period and Date of the columns. Record the attendance by placing one of the following symbols into the appropriate column for each of the students. i.e. Click/Tap on the appropriate cell to toggle through the following symbols:
Student is In-class | |
Student is Absent | |
Student was Late to class |
7. A few shortcuts to note. These will make Attendance recording much quicker…
- If you click/tap on the Label of each of the columns (showing the Day, Period and Date), this will toggle the attendance for ALL the students in the class in one go.
- Toggling ALL students to be “In-Class” and individually changing those that are Absent or Late is a very quick way to take class attendance
- Some students will have an Attendance already recorded against them. This would have been recorded by the front office and cannot be changed. Hovering over or tapping on these will show you the details of the Absence.
8. IMPORTANT: If the class is a double period, be sure to record the attendance for both columns.
9. Once all the Ticks, Crosses or Late(s) have been placed, save the Attendance by clicking/tapping on the SAVE button in the top-left hand side of the screen. If you try to exit the screen by clicking/tapping on the “Teaching Workspace” without saving, you will receive a prompt to save any changes made.
10. If you need to record attendance for a relief class, you will need to change to the teacher’s timetable you are relieving for. This is done from the Teaching Workspace screen and clicking/taping on the name in the top-right hand corner i.e.
- You can quickly find the teacher by starting to type their surname into the teacher select box and then clicking/tapping the name to make your selection.
- This will then show the selected teachers timetable.
- Click/Tap on the “at” symbol of the appropriate class and enter the attendance in the same manner documented above.
A number of other things to note:
- On the class lists you will note that some students have “coloured dots” next to their name. These represent the following:
- RED Dot – Medical Alert
- PURPLE Dot – SAER Alert
- YELLOW Dot – Custody Alert
- GREEN Dot – IEP Alert
- BLUE Dot – Attendance Alert
- Clicking/Tapping on a student in the class lists will bring up the Student details in the right-hand pane. This is useful for viewing contact details of parents/guardians or identifying more details on an Alert.
- Clicking/Tapping on “Show Advanced Actions” on the Timetable screen will allow you to change the colours of the classes on the weekly Timetable.
