To access the internet, you must be signed in to the firewall. This ensures the correct security policies are being applied when you browse the web. In most cases, this will be an automatic process, but in some cases, you will be redirected to a sign-in page.

There are three ways your device authenticates to the firewall when accessing the internet.

  1. Automatically from Wi-Fi (all devices),
  2. Automatically from their device login (school-owned computers only)
  3. Semi-automatically from a login page (all devices)

How does it work?

The first two methods are fully automatic and happen in the background. There is no input required from you for this to work! The last method should only occur when you try to browse the web and you are not already authenticated (either by the first two methods, or a previous submission to the login page).

If you are redirected to the login page while browsing the web, or after connecting to the WiFi network, please enter your account details.

If you have recently signed in to any other apps or websites using your Microsoft login, the portal page will automatically sign you in faster than the page can load! You may or may not notice your browser redirects to multiple addresses including pan.jsracs.wa.edu.au and login.microsoftonline.com, before finally being redirected to the original address.

How do I log in?

The login page uses your school-provisioned Microsoft account to confirm your identity. You must sign in using your email address and password. You won't be able to use your short username (e.g., stbloj or 29blogjo). Select "Yes" on the "stay signed in?" prompt to reduce the number of sign-in requests.

If you do not know your password, ask for help! Contact your classroom teacher, or visit the IT support helpdesk.

Common issues

Apps can't connect to the internet

If you are encountering issues with an app and suspect you may not be connected to the internet then you may need to authenticate with the firewall.

Please try opening your web browser and loading a webpage. This can be as simple as refreshing a tab or searching for any word in a search engine. If you are unauthenticated, this should redirect you to the login page.

Unable to parse response

If you are trying to browse to a new webpage while unauthenticated you may receive an error message that your web browser was "unable to parse response". This happens when you have already been redirected to the login page but haven't successfully signed in.

Please try finding the existing tab with the login page and signing in. If you cannot find the login page in any existing tabs or apps, simply disconnect from the Wi-Fi and reconnect to automatically sign back in.

I'm still having issues!
