Microsoft OneDrive is an online file storage which allows you to access documents from any device. Your Office 365 Account comes with 1TB of free online OneDrive cloud storage. This means that you have plenty of space to save your work in the cloud. 

Using OneDrive Online (iPad, Laptop or PC)

1. Open the OneDrive app on the Microsoft Office online platform. If you do not know what the online platform is, click here

2. The screen should look something like this.

3. Upload folders or files onto OneDrive by clicking the Upload button. Then you can login to OneDrive online or go to an account-linked OneDrive folder and access that document.

4. To create and save new documents directly in OneDrive, press New and choose the desired Office app.

5. To share folders or files, navigate to the document and click Share. When sharing you can give people permission to edit the document.

6. For a list of more options on files click the 3 dots next to the file name.


Using the OneDrive Application on Laptop or PC)

1. Launch File Explorer. On the left-hand side bar, there should be a OneDrive tab. If not, it is because you have not installed the Office 365 app. Navigate here to learn how. 

2. Drag or copy/cut and paste documents into the OneDrive tab to add it to upload it. Then you can login to OneDrive online or go to an account-linked OneDrive folder and access that document. 

3. To create and save new documents directly in OneDrive, alt+click (right click); scroll to New and choose the desired Office app or other file types. 

4. To share folders or files, alt+click (right click); scroll to Share a OneDrive Link and it will be copied. Send the link to share the OneDrive file.

5. Transferring, deleting and changing files follows the same file procedures of File Explorer

Using the OneDrive App on iPad

1. Launch the OneDrive app and ensure you are signed in. If you do not know how to install or set up the app, click here.

2. Once authenticated, your screen should look something like this.

3. Upload files by clicking at the top right-hand corner to view more options, and then tap Upload.

4. To create and save documents directly in OneDrive, press the again and choose the file type (Microsoft Word, Powerpoint).

5. To share a folder or file, tap the 3 dots next to the desired document. This will bring up a list of options. Choose Share.

6. When selecting a list of options for a file, there is a Make Available Offline option. This will download the file so it can be edited without internet. Once internet is connected, the file will be saved and updated.

7. Tap the circle in the middle of the bottom bar to scan cards like Smartriders. This quickly takes a picture of a card and saves it directly into your OneDrive account.

8. Tap Shared at the bottom bar to view what files have been shared to you.
