Notes:
- Please check that you have iCloud Drive enabled using the following guide: How do I enable iCloud Drive?
- If using OneDrive, make sure you have installed the OneDrive app and signed into the app.
- This guide backs up iMovie projects as iMovie files, not videos.
Move Projects from "On My iPad" to iCloud Drive
Note: You will not be able to move files to the online storage services while you are not connected to the internet. Ensure you have an internet connection before completing the following.
- Open the iMovie app.
- Select the project you want to backup.
- Press the Share button (at the bottom of the screen).
- Select Save to Files.
- Select iCloud, and choose the appropriate folder in the respective drop-down menu.
- You can create a new folder with this button.
- Press Save in the top-right corner of the window.
Move Projects from "On My iPad" to OneDrive
Note: You will need OneDrive to be installed and logged into prior.
- Open the iMovie app.
- Select the project you want to backup.
- Press the Share button (at the bottom of the screen).
- In the top bar, scroll through the apps and select OneDrive.
- The following screen should be appear. Check the account is correct, and file storage location is correct. If yes, tap Upload to OneDrive.
- If not, select the correct account and file location, then tap Upload Here.
Your projects will then automatically backup to the online storage service you selected during the move process, and you can access them by using the import feature within iMovie, the Files/OneDrive apps, or through the iCloud/OneDrive websites/apps.
